Bright Data develops tools for collecting data from the open web. The Network team builds and operates core backend services that power the company's networking infrastructure, focusing on high-performance, reliable systems with an emphasis on networking, security, and scale.

• Take end-to-end ownership of services and features in production;
• Build and maintain high-scale backend services with a focus on performance, reliability, and security;
• Participate in system design and architecture planning;
• Work on networking-related challenges such as traffic flows, proxy behavior, request/response handling, and protocol-level edge cases;
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex networking issues using packet inspection and debugging tools;
• Write high-quality, maintainable code with test coverage and participate in code reviews;
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver solutions;
• Learn and apply best practices in backend engineering and networking.

• 3+ Years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in backend JavaScript / Node.js development;
• Deep understanding of the Node.js event loop, including I/O vs CPU-bound workloads, async patterns, and memory/GC considerations;
• Proven experience building and operating production backend services;
• Strong understanding of network protocols and security: TCP/IP/UDP, DNS, HTTP1/2/3, TLS, and WebSockets;
• Experience with databases and caching layers like MongoDB and Redis;
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized deployments;
• Proficiency in system design fundamentals including APIs, scalability, and fault tolerance;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• English C1 (written and verbal);
• Nice to have: Experience with AWS and SaaS environments, debugging production networking issues (latency, packet loss, connection reuse, TLS handshakes), observability tooling (logs/metrics/tracing), and incident response/on-call.
